Twitter survey, Q1: How did you learn about Twitter?

Dec 10th, 2008

oneNote: This is the first question of a 15-part questionnaire I sent out to over 90 libraries with Twitter accounts. 65 libraries responded. I used this information for a web 2.0 article for my LIS5313 class at Florida State University. Once the article is finished, I will share it on the blog. In the meantime, I am sharing data collected of the responses for each question.

Most librarians are learning about Twitter and its uses from the blogosphere. However, they are additionally learning about it through their IT friends and fellow coworkers, at conference presentations and in-service trainings, and through professional literature.

ARGH! I missed getting back to you as @lbjnow. I’m so sorry. But here’s how I’m going to make it up to you, I’ll follow you as @taylorwill, help you on future class projects AND I’ll probably reference your blog for a talk I’m giving in March. Looks like you are doing great work and I look forward to learning more from you and helping you in the future.

Oh no worries! Actually, if you still want to respond to the survey questions, I’d love to have them. I still plan to continue working on this project and update it.

In fact, a new and interesting post from Tame the Web had a guest posting today from Mick Jacobsen, who works at Skokie Public Library. They use Twitter for internal communication amongst/within the staff.
